Rodrigo Galindo 

President & CEO

Rodrigo has served with the MFCFNC Board of Directors since its inception in 2010, Vice President in October 2011, and eventually President/CEO in August 2012. Rodrigo holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (emphasis in Adapted Physical Activity) from San Jose State University and a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland.

He currently works as a Simulation Operations Specialist and Lab Manager with the Center for Advanced Pediatric and Perinatal Education (CAPE) within the Division of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine at Stanford University - School of Medicine where he manages technology and supports research and education for simulation programs and assists with collaborative quality improvement initiatives between CAPE and the departments of Labor & Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Obstetrics at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Previously, he was IT Director at Children's Recovery Center (CRC) and Sub-Acute Saratoga Children's Hospital (SASH) for nearly two decades.

Rodrigo is passionate about supporting opportunities that link kids who have special needs with as many childhood experiences, especially recreational camping and outdoor programs. He hopes to collaborate to create a residential camp in the San Francisco Bay Area where children who live in hospitals (or are primarily homebound) can spend a couple of nights and recreate with their peers and nature. He is proud and honored to serve alongside highly-talented team members who share a vision of not only improving the quality of life for kids, but moreover, the quality of childhood. Additionally, Rodrigo is an advocate for volunteerism and donating blood.

Anna Mackey, CPA

Treasurer

Anna is a new member of the MFCFNC Board of Directors and was appointed Treasurer in 2022. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Chico with a bachelor’s in accounting. She additionally was the Treasurer of the accounting honor’s society, Beta Alpha Psi.

Anna is currently a Supervising Senior in the Trust department for Armanino LLP where she focuses on auditing non-profits, private schools, and investment funds. She works with many northern Californian schools and non-profits providing financial auditing and value-adding services over controls and processes.

Anna joined MFCFNC as she is passionate about children and being able to help all children have the positive childhood experiences that they deserve. She has learned from her close family relatives the need for more programs and accessibility for medically fragile children and hopes to contribute to making that happen for the children in our community. Additionally, Anna volunteers her time at local shelters and religious organizations.

Serena Martinez 

Secretary

Serena joined the MFCFNC Board of Directors in 2021 and shortly after took on the role of Secretary of the Board. Serena graduated with an honors degree in Economics with a secondary in Psychology from Harvard.

She currently works as a Product Marketing Manager at Google Cloud where she works to make cloud products more accessible through interactive demos. Serena also leads the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program across Google Cloud events; ensuring that DEI is considered in all elements of an event.

Serena joined MFCNC because she deeply believes that childhood experiences are critical to kids' development, and she hopes that by increasing accessibility there will be increased equality. Additionally, Serena is passionate about using technology for good and aspires to amplify MFCFNC's impact through digital transformation.

Hanna Malak 

Board Member

Hanna has served as a Board Member since January of 2014.  He currently works for the American Red Cross overseeing the blood Donor Recruitment and Collection Department. 

Hanna Malak began his work with the Red Cross through the 2010-2011 NAIA/Red Cross Collegiate Leadership Program where he spent two weeks in Washington, D.C. at the National Headquarters undergoing training and tapping into resources in the Biomedical side of the Red Cross. Hanna served on the Board of Directors in the Northern California Blood Services Region for two years and founded the Red Cross Club at Menlo College. Hanna’s name appeared on Greg Biffle’s #16 Red Cross NASCAR representing the Northern California Blood Region. Hanna also serves on the Board of Directors of Okizu, a non-profit that supports families affected by childhood cancer. Hanna currently lives in Rochester, NY.

He is passionate about the important work MFCFNC does because his older brother had cancer growing up and Hana saw first hand how his brother missed so many important childhood experiences because of treatment and hospital stays. He is honored to serve on the Board of MFCFNC.

Cindy Anderson, RN

Board Member

Cindy is a new member of the MFCFNC board. She has more than 30 years of healthcare experience working in information management and as a registered nurse. Currently, she is teaching in the Health Occupations Department at Mission College and directs their Certified Nursing Assistant program.

For twenty years, Cindy worked with medically fragile children and their families at Children’s Recovery Center in Campbell. She saw first-hand how little faces would smile and light up when introduced to animals at the petting zoo, she heard the stories of struggling parents, and she learned that the kind of support MFCFNC offers can make a huge difference in the quality of life for these children and their families. Cindy is delighted to have found a way to continue supporting medically fragile children through serving on the MFCFNC board.


Donna T Walker, RN

Board Member

Donna Walker is a registered nurse with extensive experience working with children and families in acute care and subacute hospitals and community settings.

Donna has served on the Board of Directors for the Medically Fragile Children’s Foundation of Northern California since 2010. It is her honor to have worked closely with the founder, Michael Zarcone, and to keep his mission of service to the special populations of children for whom technology is required.

Childhood experiences are formative. Donna ascribes to the belief that each child should have opportunities to maximize their potential and the foundation can help make those experiences enrichments to the children’s’ lives.
