10/24/13 - Mike Zarcone, Board Member

It is with great sorrow that we share the news that one of our founders
and Board Member, Michael (Mike) Zarcone, passed away on Saturday,
October 19, 2013. Mike was 63 years old.

Mike played a fundamental role in spearheading efforts to improve the lives
of children with medical needs/disabilities. He selflessly dedicated his career to
these children. He made an effort to know and play with the children in the hospital
     and day care.

More information about Mike's accomplishments and his story can be found on
The San Jose Mercury Newspaper website [click here].

In leiu of flowers, the family has asked the public to support The Medically Fragile
Children's Foundation of Northern California in its efforts to help continue to honor
Mike's legacy and improve the quality of childhood for kids who are
medically fragile. If interested in participating, checks can be made out to:

7/11/13 - Rod's Challenge for Children Campaign

Rodrigo Galindo officially began fundraising for "Rod's Challenge for Children". On
Septmber 14, 2013, Rodrigo will hike the tallest peak in each of 3 countries:
England, Scotland, and Wales, within a 24 hour period (ascent, descent, and
driving time). Additionally, since most of the children served utilize life support,
Rodrigo will aim to complete the challenge while wearing a ventilator, in addition
to normal hiking gear; this adds more meaning to the cause and for our donors.
All in all, this campaign aims to raise $25,000 for The MFCNFC.
